A SEASIDE DUET

I had occasion to be in Hove on the Spring Bank Holiday and while strolling along the prom I spotted, on the rich yellow façade of a Renaissance Revival-style mansion block, a pair of blue plaques. The names on the plaques, very familiar to me, were of two contrasting personalities of the Victorian and Edwardian stage. This little film celebrates their heyday and recalls the one time they appeared on the same bill.

I’ve been putting the finishing touches to a new oil painting, a Sussex scene with a storied past, which is almost ready to show you.

Fascinating! I’m a resident of Hove and enjoy finding blue plaques, especially of anyone connected with `show biz’
