ILLUMINATING THE STAGE

Recently I took part in an exploration of theatrical lighting conducted by Fiona Shaw for Radio 3. Fiona and I appeared together in The Rivals at the National Theatre in 1983 – it was her first juvenile role at the NT and my last. The programme airs on Christmas Day at 6.45pm and is called Illuminating the Stage.

At home in Sussex, surrounded by the Downs, I’m blessed by the most splendid and magical lighting effects morning and evening, such as this winter sunset.

Stay tuned for our Christmas blog which will be posted in the next day or so.

My husband and I were on honeymoon in London (my first trip there) and caught that RIVALS production. What a terrific show, and we remembered you and Fiona Shaw as particular standouts, in a very flashy cast indeed! Thanks for these posts and the view into your very considerably imaginative life.
